Point Factor Job Evaluation Method

Every profile in this library is scored with the point-factor job evaluation method published by the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE). It is designed to be gender-neutral: jobs are measured against the same defined factors and level descriptors, rather than against job titles, market rates or the people who hold them.

EIGE gender-neutral job evaluation toolkit
1

Four factors, 14 subfactors

Each job is assessed against 14 subfactors grouped into Skills, Responsibility, Effort and Working Conditions.

2

A level per subfactor

For each subfactor the job is matched to the level whose descriptor best fits the work, from 0 (not applicable) upwards.

3

Points make the total

Every level carries a fixed point value. Added together they give the job a score out of 1200, which sets its level.
